Unmanned Surgery Performed by Robot Works in Pig Trial

The BBC has an interesting report on an unmanned robot which has been used to stitch together a pig’s bowel.

Unlike existing machines, the Star robot is self-controlled meaning that it doesn’t need to be guided by a surgeon’s hands.

This development is an important step in moving science closer to automated surgery.
