Telemedicine Used by Majority of NHS Trusts

With the advancements in technology, healthcare has been shifting to adapt to the digital era. More than half of NHS Trusts across the UK have adopted what is known as ‘telemedicine’ technologies, which allows them to diagnose and treat patients remotely.

The most popular application of telemedicine is in stroke care, with 41% of trusts treating stroke patients remotely with other examples including rapid-response services in A&E departments and out-of-hours services for elderly care home residents.
