Government to Respond to the Accelerated Access Review Shortly

From the Prime Ministers Questions the following exchange, has just taken place on the AAR:

Ben Howlett (Bath) – The AAR will make a positive impact on the lives of children and adults with rare conditions. For decades patients have struggled to get access to treatment. Will she confirm that if the programme is successful it will be extended to further drugs?

Theresa May – I too welcome the publication of the AAR. George Freeman has done well to be strong advocate for life sciences in the UK. With regards to the recommendations, DH will be looking at those and will be responding shortly. This is an important development.
