PM to Promise £2bn a Year for Scientific Research

The Prime Minister, Theresa May, delivered her speech to the CBI. Boosting research, development and innovation is a key theme and the speech confirmed that the Chancellor will announce an extra £2bn investment in R&D by the end of the Parliament.

“So in the Autumn Statement on Wednesday, we will commit to substantial real terms increases in government investment in R&D – investing an extra £2 billion a year by the end of this Parliament to help put post-Brexit Britain at the cutting edge of science and tech.”
