The final 2017/19 national tariff has now been published, and it can be found here. National prices published for 2017/18 and 2018/19 will come into effect from 1 April 2017 and 1 April 2018 respectively.
The new tariff contains a range of features designed to offer stability and a positive environment for realising the goals of the Five Year Forward view. These new features include:
- a two-year tariff
- a move to the HRG4+ phase 3 currency design for national prices
- two new mandatory best practice tariffs (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction)
The two-year tariff will give the providers and commissioners greater certainty against which to plan and make the investment decisions necessary to transform their services.
A list of the changes that have been made between the consultation and now are also available here. They are limited to guidance and explanation points, and no prices have changed.
The national tariff can be read here.
