First Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Diagnostic to be Prequalified by WHO
The Wold Health Organisation (WHO) has just prequalified its first hepatitis C virus (HCV) rapid diagnostic test. Thos test, is aimed to assist in the diagnosis of HCV in low- and middle-income countries and improve access to treatment.
The acceptance of this test comes at a time when direct acting antivirals (DAAs), new and highly effective medicines for HCV, are starting to become affordable for low- and middle-income countries.
