Lack of Equity and Access are the Main Barriers for Oncologists in Spain

Improving access to therapeutic innovations in the field of oncology and ending the lack of equity in the autonomous communities are the main challenges facing the National Health System (NHS) in SpainThis was demonstrated at the V Eco Forum, where the current situation and future prospects of cancer care in Spain were analysed. The head of the Medical Oncology Department of the Jimenez Diaz Foundation University Hospital, Jesús García-Foncillas, stressed that access to innovation and health system sustainability are two issues that go hand in hand, but that it was important not lose sight of the patient.
