Public Health England – Eliminating Hepatitis C as a Major Public Health Threat in England
In a blog post by Public Health England, the importance on diagnosing those with Hepatitis C is stressed as a critical factor to avoiding deaths from the disease. Public Health England describes how the ability to meet WHO target of a 65% reduction in hepatitis C mortality by 2030 will be partially dependent on their ability to achieve this, stating that “if we are to meet the WHO target of 90% of people with chronic infection being diagnosed and aware of their infection by 2030, more work needs to be done.”
