Parliamentary Exchange on the European Medicine’s Agency – Answered 26th April 2017

Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wellington asked the Secretary of State for Health, what assessment his Department has made of the effect on the UK pharmaceuticals industry of the relocation out of the UK of the European Medicines Agency.

To which David Mowat MP for Warrington South and Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department of Health), replied:

As part of the exit negotiations the Government will discuss with the European Union and Member States how best to continue cooperation in the field of medicines regulation in the best interests of both the United Kingdom and the EU. It would not be appropriate to pre-judge the outcome of the negotiations.
