On the 21st of July, the 44 STP footprints were rated according to their performance during 2016/17. The ratings are based on numerous criteria, including system leadership and performance against finance, emergency bed day use and delayed transfer of care. The STPs were rated using four separate categories – Outstanding, Advanced, Making Progress and Needs Most Improvement.
The districts involved in the STPs were categorised as following:
- Advanced – Durham, Darlington, Teesside, Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby; South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw; Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Luton; Frimley Health; Dorset
- Needs Most Improvement – Humber, Coast and Vale; Staffordshire; Northamptonshire; Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire; Sussex and East Surrey
