The Scottish Government’s Programme for Scotland 2017-18 has been published, outlining its plans for the next year.

Of particular relevance, the Plan sets out the Scottish Government’s commitment to implement the recommendations of Dr Brian Montgomery’s 2014 review which examined access to new medicines, and confirms the establishment of a single national formulary.

The Plan also includes pledges for the Scottish Government to support implementation of the industry-led ‘Life Sciences Strategy for Scotland 2025 Vision’ and step up its engagement with industry and academia to build sustainable economic growth in Scotland, acknowledging that the life sciences sector is critical to the competitiveness of Scotland’s economic pledges.
