New procedure in Italy for promotional materials

As of June 2018, any promotional material to be sent to healthcare professionals in Italy should be sent through a new regulatory process.

Companies seeking to send materials to clinicians should ensure that they are submitted through the Agenzia Italiana del Farmaco (AIFA) front-end system: the Informatori Scientifici (Sales Representatives) or IMS. The system is already in place and in use for the dissemination of information to sales teams, so the additional function should not pose many problems for companies.

Paper versions of materials will no longer be accepted for submission by AIFA, including renewals of previously submitted material.
