NHS provides guidance for digital technology through a new Code of Conduct

The Department for Health and Social Care has released a new guidance for companies on how to help patients benefit from digital technology.

The code, which for now is voluntary, lists 10 principles that, in the words of health minister Lord O’Shaughnessy, “set out the rules of engagement between industry and the health and care system”. Companies are encouraged by the Government to sign up in order to provide “the opportunity to co-design the final version” with national authorities. The principles have been designed to protect patient data and ensure that only the best technology is used by the NHS.

The full Code can be found here.
