The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has announced the launch of a web resource to collect the thoughts and feedback of NHS staff.
The site (which can be found here) allows users to submit comments either anonymously, or under a name and bio. Comments are sought on five specific ‘challenge areas’:
- Empowerment and potential
- Workplace bullying
- Training and development
- Contribution and input
- Ensuring basic needs
The exercise aims to highlight issues not being adequately reported via management, to identify examples of best practice which can be disseminated more widely, and raise ideas for improving NHS patient care. Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) staff have been responding to comments, seeking more information on idea proposals, and details of examples of best practice.
In addition, NHS Enlgand (NHSE) has recently launched its own survey to gather views on how the NHS should evolve over the next ten years in order to better meet patient need. This is open to both NHS staff and any stakeholders who interact with the NHS.
