Sandoz launches healthcare access challenge

Sandoz, Novartis’s generics medicines arm, has announced the launch of its second ‘Healthcare Access Challenge (HACk)’. The project is looking for digital innovations with the potential to improve access to medicines in local communities, with a particular focus on widening access to healthcare for those in the world with least access to medical products and services.

The competition will be open until Nov 30th, with three winning teams attending a five day accelerator event in March 2019. The winning team will receive €20,000 in seed funding, and expert support from the company.

Positive MAP Insights
As health budgets become increasingly tight, interest in cost-saving innovations and technologies is increasing, both from payor organisations looking to balance budgets, and companies looking to market their products better. This type of competition is not only of interest to those who might wish to apply, but also for the reference of companies which could benefit from their own innovation schemes.
