Germany to benefit from EU-US mutual recognition agreement for GMP inspections

Germany has been added to the list of EU member states able to approve GMP compliance within the mutual GMP recognition agreement between the EU and the US.

The announcement follows the recent addition of Luxembourg and the Netherlands into the good manufacturing practice (GMP) agreement on the 26th June 2019.

The European Commission confirmed that the FDA is competent in carrying out GMP inspections at an equivalent level to the EU in June 2017. On the 1st November of the same year the mutual recognition agreement came into effect.
