Industry bodies respond to Health Innovation Partnership Proposal

The European Commission is currently considering partnership schemes to take forward under the Horizon Europe programme, among which is the Innovative Health Initiative, IHI.

Responding to the proposed partnership, COCIR (European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electromedical and Healthcare IT Industry), The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), EuropaBio, MedTech Europe and Vaccines Europe have released a statement. They say:

“For a thriving European research ecosystem, this new partnership will create synergies and complement other features of the European research landscape, in particular with the EU-Africa Global Health Partnership, potential co-funded Partnerships on ‘Health and Care Systems Transformation’, the European Partnership for One Health/AMR and ‘Pandemic Preparedness and Societal Resilience’, and with the EU4Health Programme.”

According to the industry bodies, this partnership will encourage significant investment in R&D and innovation, as well as reaping the broader rewards of collaboration between such important organisations.
