*NO LONGER LISTED* Westminster Health Forum – Health research in England

Thursday 01 October, 2020 starting at 08:30 - 13:00

Central London, London, UK

The Westminster Health Forum is to hold an event on health research in England – funding and support, regulation and uptake, and the future of the UK as a clinical research centre. The organisers say:

“It follows the Government’s response to the Science and Technology Commons Select Committee’s report into research integrity, which included commitments to improve research transparency and ensure the reporting of all clinical trials.

“Delegates will also consider what support can be provided to researchers through the approval process for new medicines and technologies – with a case study on opportunities for learning from the NHS Test Beds programme from John Craig, Chief Executive, Care City.

“Following the publication of the NHS Long Term Plan Implementation Framework – and with local areas required to publish their five-year plans by November 2019 – we expect discussion on how local areas can contribute to national ambitions to increase public and patient participation in research, test innovations in real world settings and ensure local adoption.”
